Market Restaurant Saint Helena – ooh yumm!

home-rotating3

Market in Saint Helena is one of our favorite restaurants. Centrally located on Main Street downtown.

Set in a warm and inviting 120 year old building and having a stunning 19th century bar that comes from the grand ballroom of San Francisco’s Palace Hotel.

Chef Ernesto brings his energy and passion for creative cuisine to the forefront, Ernesto’s menus continue to remain straightforward, yet full of freshness and boasting of flavor, incorporating organic ingredients and latin twists whenever possible.

We visit Market often, after all, it’s only 5 blocks away. The cocktail’s, appetizers, entree’s, fantastic wine selection can only be topped by a wonderfully enticing homemade desert.

I hadn’t had Butterscotch Pudding since I was a kid and I think it came out of a box! The house made Butterscotch Pudding is soooo delicous. Rich, full of just the right amount of flavor and sweetness, served in a house made waffle cup with whipped cream! It’s simple and elegant!

Market has also received high mark’s from Zagat, here is some of what they have said about Market:

“Both visitors on “a Sunday drive in wine country” and “fiercely loyal” St. Helena locals say “this place never fails to delight”, with “flavorful, well-prepared” Traditional American comfort food that’s “fairly priced for the quality”; bedecked with “stone walls and rich woodwork”, the room is often “fully booked”, but the “staff handles it well”; P.S. the “old-time-y bar” and no corkage fees are “added attractions.”
